Who cares when you need care?
As is often the case, it was personal experience that was instrumental in financial futures ifa limited setting up a specialist division dedicated to long term care and its implications. Myself and co-director David Cordle found ourselves in the situation where we both had elderly and frail parents in need of care and not able to organise this themselves. Information about care services, entitlement to State assistance and NHS requirements towards meeting both care needs and the financial costs involved was extremely hard to obtain. The more we looked into things, the more confusing and unfair the system seemed to be. Information was seemingly uncoordinated, but those that could obtain it seemingly obtained better care, not because of any deliberate attempt by the system to hide things, but simply because the whole subject is so complex that so much seemed based upon lack of knowledge and "if you don't ask, you don't
